ARRI NIA-1 Network Interface Adapter

Description

ARRI NIA-1 Network Interface Adapter (K2.0052389) expands LBUS via Ethernet and enables IP workflows for cine and live applications. It enables lens and camera control via IP networks, extended control of 3rd party cameras (Hi-5 license required), synchronized control of multiple lenses with one ECS control unit like Hi-5, long-range cable connection via Ethernet and much more. Setup and configuration are fast and easy, with the NIA-1 automatically managing complex network settings, although manual IP configuration is also an option when incorporating the NIA-1 into advanced networks.

The NIA-1 opens the door to a new world of lens and camera control possibilities. It can be used to remotely control lens or camera settings over IP networks. For simple setups, two NIA-1 units can be connected with an Ethernet cable up to 100 m long, or a fiber optic cable if longer distances need to be covered. It offers exciting possibilities for live broadcast productions, complementing ARRI’s ALEXA 35 Live – Multicam System and is also compatible with CSS products such the 360 EVO stabilized remote head. Another application of the NIA-1 is multi-camera setups and it now possible to control lens motors simultaneous – including synchronized focus pulls with one Hi-5 even with different lens types and focal lengths. The NIA-1 also improves and extends control of third-party cameras from within the ARRI ecosystem.

At first customer shipment, the NIA-1 will offer compatibility with Blackmagic URSA Cine and Sony BURANO cameras, activated through permanent licenses that can be purchased in the same way as other Hi-5 licenses. The possibilities of NIA-1 applications are endless and include control of ARRI lens motors or cameras from third-party devices via IP. In addition to the NIA-1, ARRI PCA releases the RRA-1 Bracket — a compact, quick-release rigging accessory. Sliding directly into the dovetail interfaces of NIA-1, LCUBE CUB-1, and LCUBE CUB-2, this sprung-loaded bracket ensures fast and secure attachment. It features a robust knurled wheel for quick, tool-free mounting to any 3/8-16 ARRI Pin-Lock mounting point. A pair of M4 holes provide flexibility for attaching accessories such as cable clamps for strain relief or an RMB-3.
