IBC 2023 – What caught our eyes.
This years IBC show in Amsterdam started with some lovely warm sunny weather and thankfully our travel went smoothly, so on arrival, there was a jolly atmosphere.
Friday seemed particularly busy and as we walked the halls we noticed some surprisingly big stands from new exhibitors and surprisingly some non-existent stands from big leading manufacturers!
The grey clouds rolled in on Sunday and there were plenty of cloud products to see inside the RAI. We noticed significantly less hardware and more software.
Women were notably as under-represented as ever, but there is a lot of evidence now that at least it is being noted.
So what products caught our eyes?
From Arri, a new sky panel, what’s great about it is the brightness and ability to daisy chain, it’s an 800w light, super sustainable and has a great IP rating, so no need for covers in the rain.
From Blackmagic, several new products were launched but our favourite is the new 4k micro studio camera.
Sony also announced a new grading monitor PVM-X3200 and the new Sony Burano a compact full-frame 8K cinema camera.
