Sony DWA-01D Digital Wireless Receiver Adapter (DWA-01D), has leveraged many years of development experience in the field of audio technology, the system is Sony’s first digital solution of its type and offers many advantages over a traditional analogue-based set up. Combining high-quality 24-bit/48-kHz digital audio with a 106dB dynamic range and 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response, it delivers unsurpassed sound quality. It is based on Sony’s original audio codec and therefore achieves extremely low latency of less than 3.6 milliseconds.

Sony’s innovative digital modulator ensures reliable, inter-modulation-free signal transmission with equally spaced channel allocation. As a result, production teams can simultaneously operate up to 60% more microphones than with an analogue system, providing improved operational flexibility. In addition, the digitally modulated data is encrypted to ensure secure audio transmission.

Versatile functionality opens up a range of applications
All of the products within Sony’s digital wireless microphone system offer flexible settings for optimum versatility. The DWR-S01D receiver delivers either AES3 digital or analogue audio signals. It has a unique two channel interface for camcorders and can also be rear-mounted to HDCAM™, XDCAM®, Digital Betacam® and MPEG IMX® camcorders using the DWA-01D adaptor.

The DWT-B01 body-pack transmitter supports either line or microphone input and, if required, can be controlled remotely using the DWR-S01D receiver. It offers a number of transmission power options and can utilise a variety of AA battery types – including alkaline, lithium and NiMH.

Packed with practical features for optimum operational efficiency
Both the receiver and the transmitter offer advanced features for enhanced operation. An easy-to-read, dot-matrix OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display provides at-a-glance information such as the reception channel that is in use and the status of audio and RF signals, as well as user name and user group details. In addition, metadata from the transmitter and receiver can be relayed to camcorders, helping users to monitor audio transmission status.

All products within the digital wireless microphone system have been designed with practicality in mind. The equipment is lightweight and compact (the DWT-B01 transmitter is 10mm shorter than the WRT-8B UHF Wireless microphone transmitter) and a rugged design ensures reliability – whatever the weather.
